Quince: Cydonia Oblonga.
It was cultivated in Babiylon as early as 4000 AC
Because of its acidity it is mainly eaten cooked into a marmalade paste (dulce de membrillo) or as a drink.
It has astringent, tonic, digestive and antiinflamatory properties.
Quince seeds are used by the pharmacy and perfume industry.
